The Bibblewindi-6 well reached a depth of 582m yesterday morning, the Brisbane-based operator said.
Bibblewindi-6 is located about 700m northeast of the centre well, Bibblewindi-9, which has been cased and is awaiting fracture stimulation.
The nine-well program is expected to be completed by mid-year. It includes establishing a confined production pilot by drilling eight closely spaced wells near the existing Bibblewindi-1 production well.
A pressure observation/monitor well, Bibblewindi-10, was the first well completed in March, 2.2km north of Bibblewindi-1. ESG said the function of this well was to monitor the formation pressure in the Bohena coal seam.
The Gunnedah Basin Gas Project (Coal Seam Gas) Joint Venture comprises operator Eastern Star Gas, which holds a 32.5% stake, Hillgrove Resources (32.5%) and Gastar Exploration (35%).
