The well will be cased for production after discovering the two zones, which incorporate around 10 feet of high quality porous oil-bearing sands.
Rash Barrett A No. 4 is the fifth successful completion in this immediate area. Barely a week ago Rash-Barrett "A" No.3 also encountered two significant pay zones including the Hoxbar #2 Sand, which is already on production in the offsetting Rash Barrett #1, #2 and A #1 wells.
Around 22 feet of gross productive section were encountered, 16 feet of which are high quality porous oilbearing sand. The zone encountered 31 feet high to the next highest offset well, the Rash Barrett A#1, suggesting an overall vertical oil column of the accumulation which is in excess of 65 feet.
Oil shows in the Hoxbar 1 Sand were also drillstem tested and yielded clean oil, but the commerciality of this zone is still to be established.
Rash Barrett A No. 3 also added an additional 80 barrels of oil per day to Amadeus production.
Amadeus owns a 60% working interest in the Rash Barrett lease, the balance being owned by private US partners.
