As operator of the JPDA 03-01 Joint Venture, in the Timor Sea, Woodside is preparing the well for flow testing after preliminary wire line log analysis indicated that a gross 35m oil column had been intersected.

Kuda Tasi-1 was originally spudded in early 2001 and drilled to a total depth of 3575m with preliminary evaluation of the log data indicating a 17.5m gross oil column before the well was plugged and abandoned.

The well location is around 21km north east of the Northern Endeavour FPSO which produces from the Laminaria and Corallina oil fields in water depth of around 425m.

Woodside (40%), along with venture partners Inpex Timor Sea (35%) and Santos (25%) are hoping to expedite development of the field within two years.
