When asked about the bid, the country's Director General of Oil and Gas at the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry, Iin Arifin Takhyan, confirmed, "This year, we have targeted 27 new oil and gas blocks."

"Of the 27 blocks, seven of them would be constructed on investors' initiative that would cover North and South Sumatra, Bengkulu, East Java, East Kalimantan and Papua," added Iin.
