It has reported a slight decrease in production from its Turkish operations and said its negotiations to enter the domestic US production scene were moving closer to a conclusion.

“These opportunities offer near term, low risk exploration that if successful can be put into production within two to three months,:” said the company.

The Native Title consent given by the Yued People to allow Amity to prospect in Block 7/98-9 in the North Perth Basin has contributed to an effective rebuild of the company’s fortunes since the disappointment of Whicher Range last year.

The North Perth Basin block is still awaiting the official documentation from the Department of Industry and Resources but once the green light is given, Amity will be granted an initial six-year term.

The enlistment of GeoMechanics International to do geo-mechanical work on the problematic but possibly lucrative Whicher Range gas field should provide the optimal specifications needed for another crack at the prospect.

Production from both Adatepe and the Gocerler fields dipped but Amity hoped in the installation of a compressor and putting recent discoveries on both fields into production would turn the figures around.
