The privately- held Strike said the acquisition of the new permits represents an expansion of Strike's strategic position in this proven oil province. It said it plans a 2D seismic shoot in the second permit year of both permits.
Strike also reported it will put back the drilling of two wells planned for TP/17 and WA-261P. Altostratus-1(TP/17) and Ceres-1(WA-261P) were scheduled to be spudded this month however have been delayed to July due to changes in drilling rig schedules.
Strike is currently negotiating farmin arrangements to maintain healthy equities in each prospect while at the same minimising drilling costs, the company said.
In other Strike Oil news, the company said the 3D seismic shoot in VIC P44, offshore Otway Basin, which was completed late last year is still being analysed. The data will aid the company in helping determine the location of three wells destined for the Casino Prospect. The drilling is a joint venture with Santos Ltd and the first well is scheduled for the third quarter of this year.
