Woodside adds to GoM portfolio

Perth-based energy giant Woodside Petroleum has added to its Gulf of Mexico portfolio after its wholly-owned US subsidiary, Woodside Energy (USA), reached a farmin agreement with Conoco Inc and Norsk Hydro.

Woodside Energy will earn a 15% equity in Conoco Inc's Voss Prospect exploratory well (OCS-G 17632-1) located in the Gulf of Mexico on Keathley Canyon Block 511.

Conoco Inc is operator of the exploratory well, which spudded in September and is targeting an oil field in the range of 500 million barrels. Woodside said it expects target depth should be reached early in the new year around mid-January.
