Regal picks up Romanian licence

The Suceava Block is one of the largest exploration and development blocks in Romania with an area of 4,103 square kilometres and is located in the Moldavia Platform, which contains several large commercial gas and condensate fields. The block is on the same geological trend as the largest commercial gas field in Romania, operated by Romgaz (the Romanian national gas company).

Several exploratory wells were drilled in the Suceava Block for geological information in the early 1960's. Even though these wells were only drilled to a shallow depth, gas was discovered in five of these wells. Seismic surveys were performed on the block in early to mid 1970's.

Regal boasts the high profile Frank Timmis as a director. Timmis is involved with the massive Rosia Montana gold field, also in Romania.

The company plans to shoot more seismic over the Suceava Block to reinterpret and assess additional data.
