The first contract, a turnkey lump sum contract for the East Area Additional Oil Recovery Project, 35km offshore Kwa Iboe, which was awarded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation/Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited Joint Venture went to Saibos, a fully owned Saipem subsidiary,
The contract scope includes engineering, procurement, construction and installation of three platforms for a total weight around 3500 tons and the installation of 160km of pipelines. The offshore installation phase will be carried out by the vessel Castoro Otto between late 2004 and early 2005.
A joint consortium led by Saibos was also awarded a lump sum turnkey contract for the extension of the Amenam field facilities by Elf Petroleum Nigeria Limited, 60 km offshore Bonny. The field will produce 125,000 b/d once it reaches peak production and straddles Total's Oil Mining Lease 99 and the ExxonMobil-operated OML 70.
The contractual scope of work comprises engineering, procurement, construction and installation for a production platform and a bridge. Again the vessel Castoro Otto will carry out the installation phase between 2004 and 2005.
