Managing Director Grey Roughan said that Fugro's Australasian activities had become an increasingly important component of the group's world-wide operations.
"It is coincidental that the recently completed re-organisation and streamlining of our Australasian operations has occurred just as Fugro celebrates its first 40 years of growth internationally," Mr Roughan said.
"From its first suburban office in the Netherlands, Fugro now has 7,000 staff based at 250 offices in more than 55 countries.
"Of this number, more than 300 are based in Australia with key concentrations of activities on both west and east coasts so that this country and adjacent regions can be efficiently served."
Mr Roughan said that the recently completed re-organisation of Fugro's Australian operations saw a three-division structure in place with activities and component companies placed in its Geotechnical, Survey or Geoscience divisions.
"This tripartite structure is designed for the most efficient delivery of client services and better reflects the way we coordinate our work," Mr Roughan said.
"Our position as industry leaders is largely due to our commitment to technological investment and dedicated research - and strong support from clients.
"Additionally, in the past two years we have greatly extended our capabilities in Australasia with key corporate additions including Seismic Australia (now Fugro Multi Client Services), Scintrex, Tesla, Kevron Aerial Surveys, Airesearch Mapping, Robertson Research Australia, and Jason Geosystems Australia.
"Now we have an organisation which comprehensively collects, processes and interprets data, provides information, advice and solutions on soil conditions, infrastructure operations, supplies precise positioning and exploration services to the oil, gas, mining and construction industries as well as to civil and community engineering companies and environmental and other government agencies.
"Our first opportunity to explain our new structure came at the recent APPEA conference and we found that clients responded extremely positively to our reorganised company and could see the benefits of our new, comprehensive structure which better coordinates the delivery of our services than ever before."
