Acrasia-2 logged five metres of oil sands from the Triassic Tinchoo formation and three metres of oil pay from the basal Triassic Paning formation without a firm oil-water contact point. It is currently being cased for production.
A statement from Beach Petroleum (25%) to the ASX said it was interesting to note that the Tinchoo formation was intersected 7.5 metres high to prognosis, which it said could favourably impact the amount of oil the reservoir may produce.
A thousand barrel tank farm and associated equipment is at the site of the first well, with initial testing scheduled to commence later this week at around 500 barrels of oil per day (bopd), rising to 1000 bopd after the first several weeks of production. Stuart Petroleum (75%) is the operator of the wells.
