New gas pool discovery at Beharra Springs North-1

Production testing at Beharra Springs North-1 well has confirmed a new gas pool discovery.

The well was perforated over the interval 3370m to 3387m and 3392m to 3395m within the Wagina Formation, and an initial cleanup flow has been established.

During the cleanup, the well flowed gas to surface at a stabilised wellhead flowing pressure of 2158 psig across a 1/4" choke, at an estimated flow rate of 30 million cubic feet per day.

This flow is similar to that recorded in the nearby Beharra Springs gas field wells. Following completion of the testing program, the well will be tied into the Beharra Springs gas processing facility.

Beharra Springs North 1 is located in Production Licence L11 in the onshore Perth Basin, Western Australia. The well is located on a previously undrilled structural closure, approximately 3.5km north of the Beharra Springs gas field.

Participants in L11 and Beharra Springs North 1 are Origin Energy Developments Pty (67%) and AWE (Perth Basin) Pty Limited (33)%.
