Repsol's offshore virtual reality 'success'

Launched at the EAGE MADRID 2015 congress in June, the creator of the software, Estudiofuture, called it a great success.

"The stand of our client Repsol was busy during all four days of exhibition," the VR innovator said.

"More than 1000 people enjoyed the virtual helicopter trip to an offshore platform in the middle of the sea. Everyone was amazed with the great immersion achieved."

As of today there were more than 700 downloads from the relevant Oculus "Share" portal.

"You will start the journey aboard a helicopter flying to an oil platform in the middle of the sea," the site said.

"Once landed, you will have the chance to explore the whole platform. There are 10 key projects hidden, can you find all of them?"

Offshore VR can also be downloaded for use with the cheap Google Cardboard VR headset from Estudiofuture's website.
