Collision at Statoil platform

According to reports, the incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, forcing the workers on board the platform to take to lifeboats for two hours.

By around 3.40am, the workers were allowed back onto the platform, after it had been established that the collision had caused only minor damage.

The platform is the smallest in the area and relies on the Oseberg field centre platform to do most of the processing of its oil.
