Major offshore inspection, repair and maintenance works are due to be completed for Maersk's Gryphon and Producer III floating, production, storage and offloading vessels, as well as the Janice floating production unit.
Maersk has contracted a dedicated dive support vessel for 365 days to aid in the operations.
Under the contract, Atkins has assigned eight process engineers to support Maersk in developing the scope, maintenance plans, commissioning procedures and to provide a technical interface between the dive vessel and Maersk's assets.
The scope of the contract will result in Atkin's involvement in the operations right through to completion, taking on a project management role.
"This is a truly multi-faceted contract involving many challenges as we seek to assist Maersk Oil with the enhancement of their existing North Sea assets," Atkins project manager and senior process engineer Mark Wood said.
"The agreement builds on a strong record of process engineering support to Maersk Oil over many years so is further testament to our great working relationship. We look forward to delivering successful and incident-free campaigns for each of their assets."
