GE opens expanded Hungary facility

GE HAS formally opened its expanded oil and gas facility in Fot, Hungary.

The GE Oil & Gas manufacturing plant has been enlarged with the addition of an 8000 square metre manufacturing facility and a 3000sq.m office building.

The manufacturing base will provide central unit control panels for pipelines, LNG production facilities and other oil and gas applications.

The increased capacity adds more than 100 jobs, including 40 engineering positions.

The Fot investment is the result of cooperation between GE and the Hungarian government.

Unit control panels for the oil and gas industry are designed for each customer's needs.

They are flexible control systems for multiple applications that incorporate a variety of sub systems such as safe operation of machinery, vibration monitoring, control of unit speed and load, auxiliaries systems and overall plant control.

Panels are designed to allow local or remote operations.
