The well, which is on the Lel High about 1.4km north of the sub-commercial Milho-1 discovery, is expected to be completed by the end of May.

Following this, the rig is expected to move to drill the Sesamo-1 well that will test a large pre-salt prospect in the eastern part of the block.

Roc has a 60% working interest, in the Cabinda South Block joint venture. Its partners are Force Petroleum (20% interest) and Angolan state company Sonangol P&P (20%).

Meanwhile, the company said the Ocean Princess semi-submersible rig had completed logging Talisman Energy's 30/3a-3 water injection well at the Blane oil field in the North Sea. The operator now plans to run casing on the well.

Roc has a 12.5% stake in Blane.
