Oil tanker run aground off UK coast, salvage in progress

A 3000-ton oil tanker, MV Willy, has run aground off the UK coast.

While fuel tanks have not been punctured, authorities are concerned about 80 tonnes of the vessel's own fuel still on board. United Salvage has been appointed to recover the vessel. The team is expected to go on board during the low water period to develop plans to remove the remaining fuel and prepare for re-flotation next week.
