It has appointed Jacques Robinson as its UK based General Manager. Jacques, following a career with BP and HSBC was, until recently, President of British Gas in Trinidad and Tobago overseeing its LNG business development. Geoff Salter, a partner in the Perth office, will soon join him in the UK as Managing Partner, Northern Hemisphere.
Announcing the move, RISC's Executive Director, John Boardman explained: "This expansion will enable us to bring our Asia-Pacific expertise to an increasing number of European-based clients. In the past 3 years alone, RISC has been the lead technical and economic advisor on transactions in the region with a total value in excess of US$20 billion.
"We see this growing against the background of resurgent regional economies and new gas investment opportunities driven by significant LNG market activity and expanding pipeline network. Also, with an increasing part of our business coming from the Middle East and North African countries such as Oman, Qatar, Libya, Iraq, Dubai and Sudan it will also enable us to consolidate our position in this region," he said.
Since 1994, RISC has provided advice to the oil and gas industry on the acquisition, development, management and sale of upstream assets. Based in Perth, Australia, the company has completed many hundreds of assignments for over 200 clients and has built a reputation for providing balanced, independent, high integrity corporate and strategic advice that integrates technical and commercial factors.
