Under its $55 billion infrastructure-funding package in 2005-2008, the Queensland government will spend $11 billion for electricity network upgrades.

Key supplier Energex also plans to spend more than $3 billion to modernise energy supply networks. Ergon has set aside $4 billion over five years to maintain distribution lines and secure energy for homes and businesses.
