Emerson will use its AMS Suite: Real-Time Optimizer, a key technology of PlantWeb digital plant architecture, to optimise and deliver maximum economic return from available assets.
Glow Group is a subsidiary of Suez-Tractebel and is Thailand’s largest privately owned power producer with total electricity generating capacity approaching 1700MW. The adoption of AMS Optimizer will enable the Glow Group to constantly manage the profitability of their assets in real-time, according to Emerson.
“AMS Optimizer will determine the most fuel-efficient operation from generation of optimum equipment setpoints for electricity and steam loads for all Rayong facilities,” Emerson said.
“It will also provide capabilities for equipment selection optimisation, equipment performance calculations and key performance indicators to quantify the effect of equipment degradation for all major areas of plant operation.”
The AMS Optimizer will also let Glow Group analyse ‘look-ahead’ scenarios, according to Emerson’s Asset Optimization division president Craig Llewellyn.
“This allows users to foresee and understand the effects of changes to ambient conditions, equipment availability and electricity and steam load profiles, thus allowing operators to make short, medium and long-term operational planning decisions,” he said.
“Providing plant personnel with access to accurate and reliable real-time information needed to optimise plant operations is a fundamental requirement for improving operational performance.”
Emerson complements AMS Suite with PlantWeb Services to ensure successful implementation of the application and maximize the value delivered to manufacturers.
