ABB wins big Saudi power order

Global Power and automation group, ABB, has won a big power order from the Jubail United Petroche...

The substations will tie into the eastern region branch network of the Saudi Electricity Company, thereby increasing efficiency, stability and productivity, according to ABB.

Under terms of the agreement, ABB will design, supply, build and commission a 230-kilovolt gas-insulated substation, extend and modify two existing substations and the connecting 22km power transmission line. The work is slated for completion in July 2003.
