EDA wins work

ENERGY Drilling Australia, a subsidiary of Australian Securities Exchange-listed Ausdrill, has won three contracts.

Two of these are with Senex Energy in the Cooper Basin.

One is a one-year contract for a Schramm T500XD drill rig and the other is for a Schramm T200XD.

The rigs will be used to execute a multi-well drilling program in the Cooper Basin.

The other contract is for a six to nine-month period to drill up to five wells for Statoil.

This is part of Statoil's evaluation of the shale prospects in the South Georgina Basin in the Northern Territory.

Statoil is the operator of four exploration permits in the South Georgina Basin through a joint venture project with PetroFrontier Corp and Baraka Energy and Resources.

EDA is the first Australian contractor appointed by Statoil to provide drilling services for the project.
