The company said it began drilling the well on July 10 and is currently drilling ahead at 1172m.
Hlavinka Gas Unit 1-1 is targeting the Wilcox objectives and is about 2825m northeast of the initial discovery well, Duncan-1.
Duncan-1 is producing around 10 million cubic feet of gas and 260 barrels of condensate per day from the Middle Wilcox formation.
The well is expected to take 30-35 days to reach total depth of 3719m.
Managing director Simon Ashton said if the Hlavinka Gas Unit 1-1 well were successful, it would further extend the Rayburn field.
In other company news, Strike said its producing wells are continuing to perform as expected and with the additional current sales of test gas and condensate from the Duncan-3 well, its revenues are on track to achieve $4 million this month.
