Burleson Energy
BURLESON Energy says the Nabors 19 drilling rig is expected to spud the Marlin Unit-2 development well in Grimes County, Texas, in the next day or so.
The company said the rig began moving to the well site on June 23.
Marlin Unit-2 is 1320m east-southeast of Marlin-1, which has produced gas at rates averaging 6500 cubic feet per day since March 15.
As with previous wells, drilling of Marlin Unit-2 will involve drilling a horizontal section in the target Austin Chalk reservoir at about 1500m, Burleson said.
Burleson has a working interest of 19.53% and a net revenue interest of 14.94% in the well.
The well is expected to take two months to drill and complete.
Pryme Oil and Gas
Meanwhile, over in Louisiana, Pryme Oil and Gas expects to start drilling the second Turner Bayou well, Indigo Minerals-29, next week.
Pryme said drilling contractor commitments on the Trifolia 9-1 well delayed mobilising the drilling rig to the Indigo Minerals-29 site.
Trifolia 9-1 was temporarily shut-in as a potentially producing well on June 23.
The Indigo Minerals-29 well will test a high-priority seismic anomaly identified in the Turner Bayou 3D seismic shoot and will target the Frio formation.
The well is expected to take about one week to drill to a depth of 4600 feet.
Pryme has a 52% interest in the Turner Bayou project.
