The company said the Nabors 19 rig is drilling the well and is expected to take about 60 days to drill and complete.

Marlin Unit-2 is 1320m east-southeast of Marlin-1, which has produced gas at rates averaging 6500 cubic feet per day since March 15.

As with previous Austin Chalk wells, drilling of Marlin Unit-2 will involve drilling a horizontal section in the target Austin Chalk reservoir at about 1500m, Burleson said.

Burleson has a working interest of 19.53% and a net revenue interest of 14.94% in the well.
