Geodynamics spuds next hot rocks well

As of yesterday afternoon, Geodynamics as operator said the well was drilling ahead at a rate of 10-20m per hour.

Jolokia-1 is being drilled in a 610mm hole to an initial casing point depth of 580m.

Before this well, the $32 million rig was being used at 10km away at the Habanero-3 well, which was drilled to a total depth of 4221m.

On Monday, Geodynamics reported that spudding of the Jolokia-1 well had been slightly delayed due to problems with recommissioning the rig's top drive system.

Jolokia-1 is targeting fractured granites at a similar depth known to be 10C hotter than the Habanero wells.
