Red Fork spuds third Oklahoma well

Drilling of the Redfork 2-32 well started on Friday morning and will continue to a total depth of 1417 feet to test all potential pay zones, including all the known coals.

Total depth is expected this week, after which Red Fork will complete a full suite of logs including dual induction, compensated density-neutron and micro log.

Casing will be set through all potentially productive intervals and cemented so that each zone can be isolated for testing.

The program’s first two wells, Redfork 3-29 and Redfork 5-29, both encountered gas shows.

In addition, Red Fork reported that the 5-29 well found an additional conventional gas zone in the Prue Sand, which it said had “very good” production potential.

Depending on the weather, Red Fork has contracted to drill a further two wells at the Osage project this month.

These wells – Redfork 1-18 and Redfork 1-20 – will test deeper conventional oil and gas zones, as well as the shallower coals.
