Sapex told the market yesterday that Linc would focus exploration drilling in two areas – either of EL 3325 or EL 3326 in the Arckaringa Basin and also PEL 120 in the St Vincent’s Basin.
In the first instance, a suitable location to begin a trial UCG field is expected to be chosen in the last quarter of this year, with drilling to start in the first quarter of 2008.
In PEL 120, Linc has identified a suitable location for a UCG field. Sapex said the permit was between Port Augusta and Adelaide, is close to water and nearby transmission lines and interconnectors.
In other company news, Sapex says it has put back the detail and regional seismic surveys to March 2008 due to logistical and temporary site issues.
Meanwhile, the company said its coal seam methane plans were progressing, as it started selecting sites to drill coreholes to assess gas content in the coals.
