DRILLING

Callawonga-4 to come online

BEACH Petroleum and Cooper Energy have continued to report good results from their Callawonga oil development, with news that the last appraisal well in the program has confirmed the eastern edge of the Cooper Basin field.

Unlike its predecessors, the Callawonga-4 well will not be production tested, as Cooper said the performance of the Namur reservoir was well established in the previous three wells.

Callawonga-4 is now being cased and a workover will complete it as an oil producer in the near future.

The field is producing from Callawonga-1 and -2, with Callawonga-3 to be brought onstream in the next few weeks.

The Callawonga-4 well concludes a successful appraisal-development drilling and the data will be assimilated to update the recoverable oil reserves figure for the field.

Once Callawonga-4 is completed, the rig will move to the south of the Christies Oil Field to drill the Sheringa-1 exploration well.
