Oil Search to spud next PNG wildcat

Korobosea-1 will target the Alene sandstone 28km northwest of the Kimu gas field that was discovered in 1999.

The structure is similar in style to Kimu, with potential gas resources of 400-500 billion cubic feet of gas.

A number of secondary targets will also be intersected by the well, which has a planned total depth of 2182m.

Oil Search has 90% interest in Korobosea-1 while Liquefied Natural Gas Limited is acquiring the remaining 10% from Gedd PNG.
