Last week, the company spudded the Webernick-5 well, which is designed to evaluate the incremental production potential in the shallower zones, about 6000 feet (1829m) shallower than the main producing intervals at the Mesquite project on the Gulf Coast Texas.
Also at Mesquite, Strike has brought forward the spudding of the McGall-1 exploration well to this week. The well is targeting the Flint gas prospect, which has the potential to contain 200 billion cubic feet of gas in the Wilcox Formation.
Meanwhile, the company said a workover rig is scheduled to arrive at the Tow Creek prospect, in Colorado, which it holds in partnership with Comet Ridge, in the coming weeks to test prospective intervals in the Coal View Unit 31-4 well.
The well, which reached a total depth of 6600ft on Christmas Day, encountered 245ft of oil and gas shows in the main objective.
The rig is moving from this location to spud the second of three “proof of concept” wells on the Tow Creek/Bear River prospects. The Peltier 11-12 well is targeting up to 500,000 barrels of oil.
