HJV spuds next well

THE Harriet Joint Venture continues moving ahead with its current exploration program in the offshore Carnarvon Basin, with the spudding of the South Gibson-1 well in production licence TL/6.

HJV spuds next well

The deviated well, which is being drilled from the Gibson/South Plato Platform, is expected to reach a total planned depth of 2300m, about 1km east of the facility, in five days time.

South Gibson-1 will test a low relief anticline mapped at Flag Sandstone level, about 500m south-southeast of the Gibson field.

If successful, junior partner Tap Oil said the well would be completed and brought on production “very quickly” from the existing production platform.

The well is expected to take about five days to reach the proposed total depth.

Tap has a 12.22% interest in HJV, while operator Apache Northwest has a 68.5% stake and Kufpec Australia, 19.28%.
