Spudded on July 23 with Rig PDI-735, the Talgeberry-9 well in PL 39 encountered 11m of net oil pay, and has been cased and suspended as an oil production well. The rig was then released to the Talgeberry-10 well location where it is currently drilling.

In PL 57, Santos has flagged the “significant near field” Minni Ritchi-1 exploration well, about 1.5km southwest of the Cranstoun Field, as a future producer. Drillsearch said wireline longs suggested the Birkhead Formation reservoir section may be poor quality, but production tests recovered oil from the reservoir. After leaving Minni Ritchi-1, the PDI-721 rig moved 3km eastwards to spud the Whynott-1 near field wildcat.

Also in PL 57, Drillsearch says drilling results from Endeavour continue to be very encouraging, with 15m of net oil pay encountered in the Endeavour-6 well, which has now been cased and suspended for future oil production. Rig PDI-724 was then released to the Endeavour-10 drilling location.

Endeavour-10, which spudded on July 29, encountered oil shows during drilling and an 18m core is currently being cut over the oil reservoir section. The core will be used for detailed reservoir studies, Drillsearch said.
