Progress was hampered over the weekend as the drill stem was stuck on two occasions near the bottom of the well while pulling out of hole, resulting in the loss of almost a day of drilling.

After the drill stem was successfully freed, a new bit was put in and was currently drilling at a rate of penetration in excess of 10 feet per hour. During the last run into the hole, it was observed that the well was relatively clear of breakout material, according to Geodynamics.

The bottom of the well is now at a depth projected to contain the top fracture zone, but this has not yet been detected. The projected top of the bottom fracture zone is now within 425 feet (130m).

Geodynamics’ Habanero development is the most advanced of Australia’s hot rocks projects, but it has been continually plagued with drilling problems.
