Emily-1 to be suspended, workover to follow

EAGLE Bay Resources will case and suspend the Emily-1 well in Cooper/Eromanga Basin permit PEL 18...

The operator said it would use a smaller workover rig at a later date to selectively perforate the upper sand to establish oil production with less water.

The first drill stem test to be run over two sand bodies in the Birkhead formation was a mis-run due to DST pump problems and failing to set the inflatable packers, EBR said.

A wiper trip was then run to 2000m, and DST2 with a new pump assembly was re-run over the same Birkhead interval.

The Century Rig-18 will be rigged down and released following the running and cementing of this production casing string, EBR said.

Participants in Emily-1 are: AuDAX Resources Ltd (39.9%), Eagle Bay Resources NL (operator and 37.6%), Australian Oil Company No2 P/L (12.5%) and White Sands Petroleum Ltd (10%).
