Great Artesian spuds Rossco-1

GREAT Artesian Oil & Gas last night spudded the Rossco-1 well in Cooper Basin permit PEL 106, and...

With a proposed total depth of 3000 metres, Rossco-1 is the first in a four well program to drill structures surrounding the Smegsy gas discovery, also in PEL 106, partner Enterprise Energy said.

“Rossco-1 is designed to test the hydrocarbon bearing potential of the Patchawarra Formation that is productive in many structures that have been drilled in this general area,” Enterprise said.

The structure has the potential to contain P50 reserves of 12.8 billion cubic feet of gas and P10 gas reserves of 27.4 billion cubic feet.

Immediately following the completion of Rossco-1, the rig will move to drill Udacha-1 and then Middleton-1, also in PEL 106.

Rossco-1 is about 6km north of the Jack Lake gas field, 5km west of the Nephrite gas field, 8km south of Paranta-1 and 7km northeast of the Smegsy-1 new field gas discoveries.

Participants in the Rossco-1 well are: Great Artesian (operator - 50%); Energy Investments (37.5%); and Enterprise Energy (12.5%).
