Mosaic said it was planning a 300 metre, underbalanced section (Waggamba-1H) through the gas and oil/condensate reservoir laterally using a BJ Services coiled tubing unit and today was rigging up the blowout preventer stack and underbalanced drilling equipment prior to pressure testing the equipment.
It expected to be able to report results to the market by late next week.
“The Waggamba-1 discovery well produced gas and oil/condensate on an intermittent basis between 1981 and 1991. The well was plugged-off in 1994 due to a mechanical failure of the packer during well operations,” Mosaic said.
“Prior to that time, the well had produced 0.39 BCF of gas and 22,000 barrels of oil/condensate without any water production from the main target reservoir, the Permian Tinowon Sandstone.”
