Oil Search gets encouragement from Nabrajah-5

The well was at 2148 metres with a planned total depth of 2540m.

“During the week, the well penetrated the Qishn S2 sandstone 82 metres deep to prognosis. Elevated gas readings and oil shows were recorded over the Qishn S1 reservoir interval,” said a company statement.

“The significance of the hydrocarbon shows will be evaluated during the wireline logging program once total depth is reached.”

The well will now be drilled to basement to further evaluate the gas column tested in Nabrajah-2 and to explore for a possible downdip oil leg.

The planned total depth for the well is estimated at 2540mMD.

Nabrajah-5 is a deviated well with a top Qishn S2 target location approximately 1,100 metres south of Nabrajah-4.

Oil Search has a 28.333% interest.
