Kenmore program rolls on for Beach

ADELAIDE-headquartered Beach Petroleum has spudded another appraisal well in its successful Kenmore appraisal drilling program in the Eromanga Basin, southwest Queensland.

Kenmore program rolls on for Beach

Beach managing director Reg Nelson said Kenmore-34, which spudded on Thursday morning, was to assess a possible northwesterly extension of the Kenmore field, as indicated by 3D seismic.

He expected Kenmore-34 - the fourth well in a six-well program being undertaken by Beach in the Bodalla Block and ATP 269P - to reach the planned 1465m TD by early next week.

Meanwhile, blowout preventers (BOPs) are being installed at the offshore Western Australian Hurricane-1 well (WA-208P) after intermediate casing was set at a depth of 1757m.

Beach Petroleum owns 100% of the Kenmore Field, and is earning a 10% stake in WA-208P.
