Strong shows in Texas gas wildcat: Amadeus

AMADEUS reports “extremely strong” gas shows in the primary objective of its Byczynski-1 gas wildcat at Lavaca County, Texas.

The well has a target depth of 11,300 feet and has progressed 1,310 feet over the past week to a depth of 11,010 feet as at 21 December.

In addition to the gas show encountered at 9,530 feet in the Upper Midcox sand, three further zones have been discovered in the over-pressured Midcox formation, according to Amadeus.

It said good gas shows have been recorded at the 10,407-10,455 feet interval, at 10,660-10,900 feet and at 10,980-11,010 feet. The primary objective Matula sand was encountered with extremely strong shows and well control measures have been implemented. As at report time, drilling ahead was continuing cautiously to target depth.

Logging was expected to begin at the end of this week.

Amadeus has a 25% working interest in the well. The operator is Trio Consulting & Management LLC of Wichita Falls, Texas.
