DRILLING

Tap spuds Woollybutt-4

THE WA-234-P Joint Venture have begun drilling the Woollybutt-4 well at the southern lobe of the Woollybutt structure, one kilometre north-west of the Woollybutt-3 well in the Carnarvon Basin about 50km southwest of Barrow Island.

Tap spuds Woollybutt-4

Woollybutt-3 was drilled in the southern lobe of the Woollybutt structure in 1999 and discovered a 9-metre gross oil column at the top of the Barrow Group reservoir.

Woollybutt-4 is designed to appraise the extent of this oil pool one kilometre to the northwest. Woollybutt-4 will also be drilled deeper to investigate a possible extension of an additional six-metre gross oil column intersected in the Barrow Group in Woollybutt-3.

Should the Woollybut-4 well be successful in validating the pre-drill mapping and estimates of recoverable oil, the Joint Venture will immediately consider fast track development options.

The WA-234-P Joint Venture partners are AGIP Australia Limited (operator) 65%, Mobil Australia Resources Co Pty Ltd 20% and Tap Oil Limited 15%.
