Beeville-1 flows gas

DRILL stem test six at Beeville-1 in the South Australian Cooper Basin PEL 105 block has flowed g...

Recovery from the drill string was 6.8 barrels of condensate and 0.5 barrels of rathole mud. The test was conducted in the Paning formation over the interval 2,218.5 to 2,222 metres.

Another tests over the Paning formation also recovered hydrocarbons. DST-4 over the interval 2191 to 2203.3 metres flowed gas to surface at 0.2mmcfd at 120psi on a ¼-inch choke. Recovery from the drill string was five barrels of oil and 2.5 barrels of muddy water.

The well is located about 430 metres northwest of Minkie-1, drilled in the early 1980s, and about 52 km north-northeast of the Moomba oil and gas processing plant.

The Beeville prospect is close to the southern boundary of PEL 105, on the Gidgealpa-Merrimelia-Innamincka structural ridge between the Merrimeliai oil and gas field and the Packsaddle gas field.

Beeville is thought to potentially have P50 oil-in-place of about 4.6 million barrels in four separate reservoirs. If this potential is realised Beeville could yielding a P50 reserve of one million barrels of recoverable oil.

Interests in Beeville are Stuart Petroleum Limited (operator) 20.0%, Hughes & Hughes Australia Pty Ltd 53.3% and Tri-C Resources Inc 26.7%.
