Enterprise spudded Nulla Nulla-1 around midnight on Thursday October 14. It reported today that it had drilled 1601 metres and expected the well would reach a total depth of 1825m.
Located in the ATP-549P(West) permit, Nulla Nulla-1’s primary target is a large structure contained in the Namur and Hutton Sandstones, both of which are Jurassic in age, Enterprise managing director Warren Leslie told Energy Review.Net.
“The Hutton Sandstone has yielded the most significant shows in surrounding wells and we expect to penetrate it at 1825 metres about nine days after spud,” Leslie said.
“We anticipate additional prospective reservoirs throughout the remaining Jurassic and Triassic sections, so the well has multiple targets.”
While this is Enterprise’s first well as operator, it has been involved in two previous drilling projects, both in the South Australian portion of the Cooper Basin.
The Smegsy-1 gas discovery well was done as a farmin project on Great Artesian Oil and Gas Limited’s PEL106 lease. Gas has been found but the partners are yet to test the well.
Another project, Acacia Grove-1, undertaken in partnership with Copper Energy was unsuccessful.
Interest holders in Nulla Nulla-1 are Enterprise 41.67%, Icon Energy (33.33%) and Great Artesian Oil and Gas (25%).
