“This hydraulic fracture stimulation is the same size as the one reported last week in Bibblewindi-1, which was the largest coal seam gas (CSG) hydraulic fracture stimulation ever conducted in Australia.
Bohena-9 is located four kilometres north of the recently drilled Bohena South-1 and 11 kilometres north of the recently fracture stimulated Bibblewindi-1 CSG wells,” said the company.
Bohena-9 was recently drilled to a total depth of 913m, intersecting the Maules Creek Formation containing a 12m thick Bohena coal seam at a depth of 871.5m and an additional 4.2m net coal in the upper Maules Creek Formation.
The plan is to immediately conduct a second stage hydraulic fracture stimulation of the upper Maules Creek Formation coals prior to the well being placed into long term test production.
The project is located in Petroleum Exploration Licence 238 between Narrabri and Gunnedah in New South Wales covering 9,100sq.km of the Gunnedah Basin.
