Preparations are now underway to test the Qishn sandstones, where oil shows were encountered during drilling, and which flowed oil in the Nabrajah-1 discovery well.
Preliminary results from electric logs in the well indicated potential oil bearing zones in the Qishn S1 Sandstone (1,890 – 1,895m), Qishn S2 Sandstones (1,928 – 1,940m) and top Basement (2,322 – 2,327m).
Nabrajah-2 is the first well in a two well back-to-back appraisal drilling
program to be conducted in order to determine the size and commercial
viability of the Nabrajah discovery.
The Nabrajah-2 well is located one kilometre northwest of the Nabrajah-1 well.
The participants in this well are DNO ASA 56.67%, Oil Search (Yemen) Limited 28.33% and The Yemen Company 15%.
