Step out wells flow again for Cooper Basin producers

Worrior-2, located 55km south-west of the Moomba oil & gas facilities, and approximately 250m to the north-north-west of the Worrior-1 producing well, ran DST-2 in the Birkhead Formation over the interval 1548.5m to 1560m.

Initial flow results were 2600 barrels of oil per day and 290 barrels of water per day with the target Patchawarra Formation still to be intercepted at 1709m.

Christies-2 located 85km west of the Moomba oil and gas facilities and 280m to the south west of the Christies-1 producing well is drilling ahead in the Hutton Sandstone.

The result of DST-2 conducted yesterday in the interval 1619 - 1634m in the Birkhead Formation was no fluid to surface, similar to the result in the same reservoir in Christies-1.

The recovery consisted of 52 barrels of 45 degrees API oil with no water was detected. Cooper said these results indicate that the Birkhead Formation in Christies-2 is capable of producing more than 500 barrels of oil per day on artificial lift. The primary target is still the Poolowanna Formation at 1850m.

Stuart Petroleum holds a 70% interest in Worrior-2 and Beach Petroleum holds 75% of Christies-2 with Cooper Energy controlling the remaining interests in both.
