Oil Search tests three levels in Yemen

Oil Search’s Nabrajah-2 appraisal well in Block 43, Yemen was at 2,214m during the week, with four cores cut over the Qishn S2 and S3 sandstones.

The forward plan for the well is to drill to the top of the basement section (at approximately 2,285m) and run wireline logs to evaluate the oil and gas shows which were observed while drilling in the Qishn interval, the primary objective.

On completion of the wireline logging program, the 9-5/8 inch casing will be set and the well deepened to total depth of 2,400m to test the potential of the basement interval.

Nabrajah-2 is the first well in a two well back-to-back appraisal drilling program to be conducted in order to determine the size and commercial viability of the Nabrajah discovery. The Nabrajah-2 well is located one kilometre northwest of the Nabrajah-1 well.

The participants in this well are DNO ASA 56.67%, operator Oil Search (Yemen) 28.33% and The Yemen Company 15%, carried.
