Woodside takes two with Kansas-3

Woodside has spudded the Kansas-3 exploration well in the Gulf of Mexico in Atwater Valley block ...

Kansas-3 is 60 metres (200 feet) due south of Kansas-2 in water depths around 1,440 metres.

The Kansas-1 well, in the Atwater Valley 489 block was plugged and abandoned at a depth of 18,170ft, with Woodside saying further drilling was required to fully evaluate the prospect.

The Kansas-3 well is located approximately 11 kilometres northeast of the giant Neptune discovery which encountered a net oil play of 34.7 metres at the Neptune-7 well, 500 foot net pay at Neptune-5 and two reservoirs with a total 150ft net oil pay at Neptune-3.

Woodside Energy owns a 16.665% working interest in the leases that comprise the Kansas prospect.
