This latest well has had significant gas flows from the Permian Tinowon Sandstone on test with the absolute open hole flow (AOF) estimated to be approximately 15 million cubic feet per day.

Testing through a 1 inch choke over the interval 2070 - 2123 metres resulted in a stabilised gas flow of 7 million cubic feet per day, with a surface flowing pressure of 251 psi.

Prior to the drilling of Churchie 4, the Churchie JV partners had announced 2P recoverable gas reserves of 34PJ and 3P recoverable gas reserves of 125PJ.

"This well is a further indication that the large Churchie gas field can supply significant gas to the south east Qld market. Indeed, Churchie 4 result increases confidence in 2P reserves, which are the basis for marketing this gas" said Dr Howard Brady, Mosaic CEO.

The gas field is owned by Mosaic Oil (49% as operator) and the Santos Group (51%).
